We are now, arguably, a few years deep into the latest industrial revolution. Brought on by the internet, we are entering a new dynamic of access consumerism. The age of “owning” goods and services is coming to an end, largely in part to changing tastes, but more so due to general unaffordability.
We are seeing frequent adoption of “access” business models, which allow companies to effectively lease their services to cost-conscious consumers. We have seen how lucrative this shift to subscription operations can be for companies such as Microsoft and Netflix.
But what company is due to be the subscription king as this new dynamic takes over?
