Frontier Tech Investor section guide 2023
19th January 2023 |
Welcome to the new format Frontier Tech Investor and welcome to our new monthly issue format for 2023.
Our aims are simple. Relative to the past, we want to give you a greater number of actionable insights. We want to do this in a way that is more useful and more accessible for you.
This guide explains what you can expect.
Section 1: What matters most this month
In any month, there will be one big idea or insight that clearly is more important than all the others that are covered in the rest of Frontier Tech Investor.
This big idea will appear at the beginning of Frontier Tech Investor in the headline essay.
Sometimes the big idea will be in the form of a specific investment recommendation. On other occasions, it will be more general: we will explain what we think you should be watching – if not actually buying or selling.
If relevant, the headline analysis will be accompanied by a video or audio.
Section 2: Big breakthroughs
The second section will explain a particular new technology or breakthrough development that we think that you should have “on your radar”.
Technological change is constant, rapid and often confusing. If you are abreast of all the big breakthroughs, we congratulate you.
If you are not abreast of all the big breakthroughs, we guarantee that you will be after a year of subscribing to Frontier Tech Investor. Â
Do you want to know the difference between nuclear fusion and fission? What makes quantum computing so radically important compared to “regular” computing? Why is blockchain important? How does a solid-state lithium battery change the game for EVs?
These are just some examples of the kinds of topics that we will be discussing. Â
Also if there are technologies or breakthroughs you’d like to know about and hear from us on, be sure to send in your requests/suggestions by e-mail.
Section 3: Buy List update
As you know, we can’t provide personal investment advice. However, we can provide you with regular updates on the stocks on our Buy List.
Each month, we will update you on a good selection of the stocks. Generally these will be the stocks that appear to be most relevant to the topics that we are discussing in the rest of that edition of Frontier Tech Investor.
We will provide updates on positions as and when necessary, outside of our monthly issues.
If you really feel that we should look at a particular name on the Buy List – or that our analysis is somehow wrong – don’t hesitate to let us know.
Section 4: In the lives of the editors
Here we will write about (and where possible show you) the things we’ve been up to. We will explain how it’s relevant to the work we do.
It’s really a look inside how we think. It shows how we view the world and proof that we are real human beings (and not really advanced AI).
Be prepared for everything from a ponderous philosophical essay to pictures of the resident canines and felines that occupy our homes.
You will see how frontier tech really affects everyday life.
Section 5: Crypto Corner
Are you a “hodler”? Are you a believer? Are you a sceptic? Are you crypto-curious? In this section, we draw on Sam’s 12 years of experience to look at the inner workings of the crypto world.
We look at what is happening. We explain why it is happening. We identify the opportunities – and the potential pitfalls.
You may be a “noob” – a newcomer to the crypto world. You may be a seasoned veteran of several “crypto winters”. Or you may think that we’re crazy, but want to see what we have to say anyway.
In any event, we will have insights for you. Content may be written, a video or an audio track – depending on what seems to be the best way of getting the message to you.
If you have any crypto-related questions, don’t hesitate to send them in.
Section 6: Reader Questions & Answers (Q&A)
Here we want your best questions on anything.
Almost nothing is off the table here. We will select the best questions each month to publish, along with our answers. If we’re inundated, we will choose which we feel are best and most relevant/important – so make them count!
Also, make sure to note when sending in your questions for our reader Q&A that you’re happy to have your question published. While we won’t use your name or initials or anything identifiable, it does help if you’re happy to have your question up in bright lights.
Section 7: What else we’ve been looking at this month
As we keep track of what is really happening, we can help you to do the same. This is of course, what Frontier Tech Investor is all about.
It occurred to us that it would be useful to highlight – and provide links to – the things that we have been reading, watching and listening to.
Again, this should give you a clearer view of the bigger picture, as well as give you a little more insight as to how we think.
The format of Frontier Tech Investor will likely change over time. Please let us know if there are improvements that you think can be made.
Welcome to the new Frontier Tech Investor. We hope that you enjoy it.
