Sam Volkering’s Crypto Network
5th November 2020 |
“Hello world!”
In tech circles the “hello world” phrase is popularly known as the first thing a program says when it’s released for the first time.
Granted what you’ll read today isn’t exactly a “debut” as such, more a revival, an evolution, a revolution in the publication formerly known as Coin Confidential.
Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve had a pause in sending you updates regarding the world of cryptocurrencies from Coin Confidential because we’ve been working on a radical change.
That has now culminated in the relaunch, rename and all-new forward-looking content that you can expect to receive going forward.
Below I’ll outline what it’s all about, what you can expect and why we’re calling this new crypto publication:
Sam Volkering’s Crypto Network
Now, what exactly is Sam Volkering’s Crypto Network going to be all about?
Well, I was thinking about what I was going to call this rebirth, and we toyed with names like Crypto Times, the Digerati, Cryptopunks…
But ultimately we said, what is it? And it’s me, with all my experience and knowledge of crypto markets spanning back a decade letting you inside my network of information and contacts to deliver to you everything you need to know about this huge global revolution.
It is Sam Volkering’s Crypto Network – does what it says on the tin.
My own journey with crypto started in weird internet forums over a decade ago. It led me to toying with building a bitcoin mining rig, investing and dabbling in and out of bitcoin, the first altcoin boom and bust in 2013 and 2014, the rise and fall and rise and fall and rise and fall of bitcoin and other crypto, and even to advisory positions with cryptocurrency projects and non-crypto projects that are looking into the digital asset industry.
I’ve seen pretty much all of it in crypto. Theft, scams, crazy five-figure-percentage winners and ultimate, complete 100% losers. A decade-long journey that feels like it’s really only just getting started is why I love the crypto space so much.
The potential that exists, the development taking place and the exciting future is so tantalising it’s what makes investigating this revolution so much fun.
My experience, my journey and what’s coming with all of this is what you can expect to find in Sam Volkering’s Crypto Network.
I’ll be explaining to you everything I can about what’s happened in the past, what’s going on right now and what I see coming in the future.
Importantly, I’ll be taking the approach of a beginner into this space. If you’re already an advanced crypto investor, some of the things we have in Sam Volkering’s Crypto Network may be too basic or you already know about them.
But then again, I’ve learnt in my experience that even people with loads of “experience” still often make unbelievable mistakes by thinking they know more than they actually do – so perhaps there’s something for everyone in Sam Volkering’s Crypto Network updates.
You see, changing the gas price (GWEI) and gas limit for a faster transaction on the Ethereum blockchain to a decentralised exchange to trade into a DeFi token to yield farm might be second nature to me now.
But to most people that entire paragraph is utter confusion and nonsense. Some people can’t get over the initial hurdle of even just getting some bitcoin and knowing what to do with it.
That’s why in Sam Volkering’s Crypto Network I will be starting everyone from the very first springboard, which is simply just getting into crypto and then learning about how to build yourself up to exist comfortably and safely in this space.
I should point out early on, that while the focus is going to be on the world of cryptocurrencies, that doesn’t necessarily encompass all of what is going on in the “crypto world” right now.
The truth is that cryptocurrencies are really the genesis event of a much bigger change to our world. That change is via the way of digital assets.
Digital assets like cryptocurrencies, tokenised investments (cash, companies, property, funds, alternative investments like art or cars… or socks) and the digital revolution taking place in what we can invest in and transact with.
Cryptocurrencies are the leader in that digitisation of the world’s assets. They’ve shown us that we can implement technology networks and systems to all kinds of assets to improve transacting with each other and our world at large.
It’s fundamentally a change in our world’s transactional systems.
For example, think about how much faster house sales could be accelerated using smart contracts that execute offer, agreement, and consideration for a property purchase. Then once the banks have approved the mortgage (should it be needed) there’s instantaneous transfer of funds to the appropriate parties.
Digitise title deeds and searches could be found, sent and come in a lower costs via these systems. All the costs of a property transaction could be stripped either completely out, or right back to next to nothing.
Very quickly you find a huge efficiency and cost gain in this kind of transaction. Not only that, the property itself as the primary asset could be tokenised. You could pool investors together to own tokens in particular properties that convey legal ownership of the property in consideration.
These could be bought, sold, freely traded on open markets anytime, anywhere. It could result in even greater price discovery for the property market and open up property investing to a whole new range of people that were perhaps locked out of it previously due to the increasingly high barrier to entry.
Of course, that’s just one example. You can tokenise and digitise any asset. Already we’re seeing sports clubs get more actively involved in issuing tickets on blockchain technology, plus fan wallets containing season passes and generating loyalty rewards for spending at things like merchandise stores or at stadium concessions.
They’re often referred to as fan engagement tokens, but again they indicate there’s great innovation going on in this space about the kinds of assets we can tokenise, digitise and trade.
Imagine owning a season ticket and not being able to attend a game due to late notice. You could simply log into your app and trade your seat for money, or other digital assets. Perhaps some bitcoin, or maybe a piece of fan merchandise, anything really.
These are just a couple of examples of an increasingly digitised world we live in.
Cryptocurrencies are indeed the first iteration of digital assets and the ability to trade and transact in digital assets, tokens or as more widely know, “crypto”.
I believe this expanding world of digital assets and the wider crypto networks that are involved in it all present one of the most compelling investment opportunities we’ve ever seen.
It provides access to opportunity that many people have never had before, and may never have again.
This opportunity will come in the way of cryptocurrencies that are developing today, digital assets and tokenised assets that exist and will be developed tomorrow, and the companies and businesses that will look to launch their own cryptocurrencies or digital asset tokens representing ownership of the company or utility on their own networks and offerings.
That’s why I’m calling this new extension and rebirth, Sam Volkering’s Crypto Network.
In it, I’ll focus quite heavily on the opportunity in cryptocurrency and eventually I’ll expand as the opportunities present in all kinds of new digital assets and opportunities. I’ll be bringing in all my experience, knowledge, wider connections and networks to deliver to you the fundamental basics you need to get into this space, operate in it successfully and with the confidence needed as this new revolution takes place.
As someone who’s interested in this space, these kinds of opportunities, that puts you on the inside of the information flow. Most people think this is all just still linked to bitcoin and that inherently bitcoin is still a scam.
They’re ignorant. And they’ll miss some of the most exciting investment stories and opportunities of their lifetime.
But that’s their prerogative. This kind of investing isn’t for everyone. I believe those who want in, are already in or want to learn about it, are a special bunch – together we’re almost like a little family who can see something of great significance building right in front of our eyes.
Now, as part of the new Sam Volkering’s Crypto Network, going forward you can expect a fortnightly update from me.
These will compose of written updates about things I think you need to know as part of our Crypto Network. Alternatively from time to time I’ll also be doing video updates that could be me just talking to you about the crypto and digital asset space and what I’ve been working on, or showing you how to do something and guiding you through it.
I also encourage you to be active with me about what you need to know, what you want to know and what you must see and understand to actively get involved in the digital assets and crypto world.
You can always write to me at sam@southbankresearch.com and ask specifically for something to be added into the fortnightly updates. I’ll do my best to get it all done for you.
I’ll also be adding ad hoc, special reports, videos or “how tos” to guide you along your own Crypto Network experience.
Also, to top it all off, I’m going to be putting together over the coming months my “Top 10” which is a set of specific cryptocurrencies that I think any crypto investor should be considering as part of their crypto investing strategy.
This Top 10 will be reviewed quarterly and may include new crypto, removing some crypto or no change at all but merely an update around the crypto that make up the Top 10.
That’s what we’ve been working on behind the scenes. We wanted to make this relaunch far more jam packed with useful information, better content and clearer guidance about how to invest better in cryptocurrency and digital assets.
It’s not just about what’s going on in the crypto and digital asset world, it’s also about what you can do and how you can do it to get involved.
That’s what I’ll be delivering with the fortnightly updates and the quarterly information on the crypto Top 10 as we build up that list of crypto every investor should be considering as part of their crypto portfolio.
I hope you’ll come to thoroughly enjoy Sam Volkering’s Crypto Network. If you’ve got any questions about what we’ll deliver, how we’ll deliver it or what you might like to see us cover, again you can reach me at sam@southbankresearch.com
You can expect your first full fortnightly issue of Sam Volkering’s Crypto Network on 16 November – until then, I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,

Sam Volkering
