Urgent broadcast: Maajid Nawaz & Sam Volkering on CBDCs and decentralised currencies

Maajid Nawaz is a British broadcaster and politician.

His self-penned book, Radical, describes his life and progression into the Islamist extremist group Hizb ut-Tahrir and his rise through the leadership.

It also tells of his arrest, torture and subsequent exit from Islamic extremism and his work as a global leader fighting against the dangers of ideological extremist narratives.

He’s seen, and experienced, first hand some of the horrors of our world.

He has come out the other side to challenge the extremism in which he was once so immersed.

He’s been called upon by the world’s global leaders from US presidents to UK prime ministers and government spy agencies to understand more about his experiences and understanding of Islamist extremism.

He also has a perspective like no other on freedoms and rights of individuals: put another way, he really understands the threats and dangers of a big, centralised and elite authority.

He is now an avid campaigner for individual human rights and liberties.

More recently he has helped raise awareness on the potential threats that a central bank-backed digital “coupon” (as he calls them) has to society. Notably, on the hugely popular Joe Rogan Experience podcast, he brought CBDCs into the spotlight. In doing so, he garnered global attention.

I had the opportunity to meet and sit down with Maajid for a one-on-one conversation on CBDCs and the threats that they represent.

We spoke about the global financial system into which the CBDCs are being launched.

Most crucially, we discussed how decentralised currencies and networks can protect people from the potential dangers.  If you really want to know about CBDCs and decentralised currencies, this interview is for you.

Also, if you want to follow Maajid, he is regularly active on Twitter (@MaajidNawaz). You can also find more of his work on Substack.
